Who we are and how to contact us

Dainik Gorakhpur is an independent digital news publication. Our owner, responsible editor and current public contact details are listed on the About and Contact pages. Contact the publisher using the email below for questions about this policy or your information.

Reading news and operating the service

You can read public news without creating an account. Our hosting and infrastructure providers may process IP addresses, browser information, request times and technical logs to deliver pages, prevent abuse and investigate faults. We do not currently operate a newsletter subscription service or a separate Google Analytics integration.

Accounts and reporter applications

Supabase provides authentication, database and file storage. Reporter applications collect the applicant’s name, father’s and mother’s names, email, phone number, reporting area, address, optional education and experience, photograph and a private masked Aadhaar copy. Only the final four Aadhaar digits may be entered as optional text; the form does not collect the full number. Authorised staff use these details to review applications, contact applicants, manage permissions and issue identification cards. Passwords are handled by authentication services; the reporter application does not store a readable password for administrators.

Public articles can show an author’s name, recorded role and approved photograph. Private family details, application addresses, phone numbers, identity documents and review notes are not published in the author listing. Identity documents are stored in a private bucket, with access limited to the applicant and verified administrators through short-lived links. Reporter photos use private storage and time-limited access links. An ID card contains identity details and may reveal them to anyone with whom its holder shares the card.

Account emails and login security

When configured, Resend delivers application email-verification codes, login codes, account messages and welcome emails containing a secure ID-card link. Sending these messages processes the recipient’s email address and the account information included in the message. Delivery status and provider receipts help troubleshoot failures and prevent duplicate sends. These are operational account messages, not an automatic marketing subscription.

A trusted-browser cookie can support the staff login verification period. It does not extend an expired or revoked ID card or give a reader editorial permissions. Never send a password or one-time code in a privacy request.

Comments, replies and readership counts

Readers can submit comments and replies without logging in. The display name, message and posting time are public; comments are published automatically and administrators can remove inappropriate material. Do not include private or sensitive information in a public comment. A random browser-session identifier is used when submitting comments to limit repeated submissions and abuse.

If you accept optional cookies, a random session identifier may be used for article view counts. The count represents recorded visits under the counting rules, not a verified number of different people. With essential-only or no consent, existing counts can still be displayed without creating a measurement identifier.

Browser storage and your choices

Essential and requested-function storage supports sign-in, security, language and theme preferences, saved articles and recovery of staff writing. Editorial recovery copies are separated by account and remain on that browser; successfully saved database drafts are separate records.

The bottom notice lets you accept optional cookies, use essential storage only, or postpone the notice for 24 hours. An accepted or essential-only choice is remembered on that browser until you change it, clear site data or a new policy version requires a fresh choice. Use Cookie settings in the footer or on the Cookie Policy page to change your choice. This does not identify you across devices.

Google advertising and other advertisers

Google AdSense is available as an optional advertising integration. After optional acceptance, or when you explicitly open Google privacy settings, Google’s consent loader can run so its published consent message can be displayed. The AdSense advertising script is loaded separately only after the required choices and publisher controls permit ads. Ad requests remain blocked until the applicable Google CMP result permits them and the publisher’s approval, enablement and consent-setup controls allow ads. Verification tags or an ads.txt file do not mean that Google has approved this website.

When Google ads are active, Google and its advertising partners may place or read cookies, use web beacons, IP addresses and other identifiers, and process visits to this and other websites for advertising, personalisation and measurement. Google advertising cookies may enable Google and its partners to show ads based on those visits. The applicable Google consent message and account settings also control available advertising.

The website is integrated with Google’s Privacy & messaging CMP using Google’s consent loader. The publisher must publish the European regulations message in AdSense for eligible readers in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. If the required consent result is missing or unavailable, this integration keeps ad requests paused. This website’s small local preference notice is not a Google-certified CMP and does not itself grant Google TCF consent. Use Privacy and cookie settings in the footer when available, or Google privacy settings to open the consent flow on the home page. Google stores and renews its own consent record; the local 24-hour reminder does not reset that record. Clearly labelled private advertisements may link to advertisers whose own privacy policies apply when you visit them.

External resources, audio and assisted summaries

Some images, the DMCA badge and linked resources are hosted by other providers. Loading an external resource can disclose ordinary request information, including an IP address, to that provider. Following a link takes you to a service with its own terms and privacy policy. The site’s bundled fonts are served with the website.

Audio reading uses speech synthesis available through your browser and device; whether a voice uses remote processing depends on that provider. If an administrator enables an external AI summary service, the selected article text and headline may be sent to the configured provider, such as Google Gemini. Private application records and reader login tokens are not part of that summary request. Reviewed summaries can be displayed without making a new AI request for every reader.

Retention, access and deletion requests

Public news and corrections may be retained as a journalistic archive. Account, application and delivery records are retained for operation, access management and security unless removed by an authorised administrator; there is currently no universal automatic deletion schedule. Local recovery copies remain until removed or cleared in the browser.

Email the publisher to request access, correction or deletion of information you have provided. Identify the relevant account or page without including passwords or OTPs. We may need to confirm ownership and may retain records needed for security, legitimate publication records or applicable obligations. No response deadline or outcome is promised without reviewing the request.

Policy changes

We update this policy when the service or its data practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest published revision. Important changes to optional-cookie purposes may require a new browser choice.
